Centres for Research-Based Innovation foster expertise in areas critical for innovation and societal value creation.
Centres for Research-Based Innovation (SFI) enhance technology transfers, internationalization, and research training through a close and long-term collaboration between research-intensive companies and renowned research institutions. The research conducted within these centres must uphold a high international standard.
The centres are established for a maximum period of eight years. UiO is the project owner for two SFIs and a partner in ten others.
SIRIUS

Centre for Scalable Data Access (SIRIUS) develops new technologies to identify and process relevant information from the large and growing amount of digital data ("big data").
