Recognition procedure for applicants without verifiable documentation

If you have completed education from Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iraq, Yemen, Liberia, Libya, Sierra Leone or Somalia, you must apply for recognition of your education from HK-dir before you can apply for admission to the University of Oslo.

HK-dir has a specific recognition procedure for persons without verifiable documentation (the UVD-procedure).

You must have a valid residence permit in Norway in order to be eligible for the UVD-procedure.

Copy of passport

Upload a copy of your passport ID-page. Name the pdf or jpg file passport or idcard.

Documentation of English language proficiency Please see English language proficiency required for studies at bachelor's level. Upload your documentation and name the pdf or jpg file by the test name like IELTS or TOEFL or other test names. If not covered with a test, just call the file English.

Documentation of name change

(if applicable)

Upload officially certified documentation of name change if name appears different in any document. Name the pdf or jpg file namechange.

Secondary education

Original secondary education credentials

 

Upload a scanned copy of the original diploma and transcripts of records.Transcripts of grades must be included. Documents stamped "Student copies" are not accepted.

Translations

If the language of the original document is not English, an official translation made by an authorized translator must be be uploaded.

Please note that the original language version must always accompany the translation.

Higher education

Final degree certificate(s)

Upload a scanned copy of the original  transcripts/certificates/diplomas. Transcripts of grades must be included. Documents stamped "Student copies" are not accepted.

Translations

General admission requirements

Applicants have to meet the general admission requirements to university studies in Norway to be eligible for admission, please see the Higher Education Entrance Qualification for Persons with Foreign Education, the GSU-list for more information.

Important about documentation:

  • Upload documents preferably in PDF or JPG format to the application portal within the application deadline.
  • When uploading documents, you acknowledge that the University of Oslo may contact the issuing institution for verification.
  • Submission of fraudulent documents is illegal, and will be reported to the proper authorities and may lead to dismissal and loss of right to study. Your are liable for uploading true and unaltered documents.
  • If admitted, you must bring your original documents with you as you might be asked to present the documents to the University. Failure to submit documents on request will lead to dismissal.
  • Incomplete applications will be rejected.
