*Elective course means either a course in gender studies or any other course that increases the students’ capacities to analyse and write their MA-thesis in gender studies. The students should choose their elective courses in cooperation with the programme coordinator and the student adviser. The elective courses may be chosen among the following.

All the obligatory courses in the programme are taught in English. Students also have the option to choose courses taught in Norwegian as elective courses.

During the first year there are three obligatory courses: In the autumn semester there are two obligatory courses: KFL4040 and KFL4050. First year students are also required to meet three times with the teacher to prepare for the KFL4000 course that is offered during the spring semester.

In the spring semester KFL4000 is obligatory. This implies that students should choose two elective courses.
