The Master's programme Fluid Mechanics, programme option Energy, Environment and Safety is a two-year full time study consisting of 120 ECTS credits.

  • 60 ECTS Master's thesis and 60 ECTS courses or
  • 30 ECTS Master's thesis and 90 ECTS courses

If you do not have MEK2200 – Continuum Mechanics from before you should take MEK4020 – Viscous liquids and elastic materials in the course of your Master's study. MEK4470 – Computational Fluid Mechanics is a numerical course that build on MEK2200 – Continuum Mechanics, if you lack this background you can take IN5270 – Numerical methods for partial differential equations as an alternative the first term. MEK4300 – Viscous Flow and Turbulence builds on MEK2200 – Continuum Mechanics.
