Is it possible to pass the course without attending the lectures in person?

The lectures are designed to provide additional information and deepen your understanding of the course material. We do not simply read from the syllabus; instead, we focus on explaining topics that are not explicitly covered there and on having interactive discussions. For this reason, we strongly recommend that you attend the lectures in person.

If attending is not possible, you should try to talk with classmates who did participate in the lectures and learn from their notes and experiences. If neither of these options is available, you will need to rely solely on the syllabus and the handouts to understand the course content.

Will the slides be published, and if so, where?

Yes, the lecture slides will be published on the course website. Please go to: https://www.uio.no/studier/emner/matnat/ifi/IN5040/h26/i...
