I've tried to do the mandatory assignment and you can see the result here. 

The curriculum is basically everything I covered in class. Except for the note on the element method, it is taken from Evans' book Partial Differential Equations. All page and section numbers refer to the second edition.

• Appendices. I will not ask about this material, but it is useful to know.

• Sobolev spaces. Chapter 5, the entire chapter except section 5.6.3.

• Second order elliptic equations. Chapter 5, pages: 311–331, 332–343 (results, not proofs), 344–351, 354–360.

• Linear evolution equations, section 7.1: Second-order parabolic equations. Chapter 7, pages: 371–384, 384–388 (results, not proofs), 389–391.

• A note about the element method for second order elliptic equations in two dimensions.

The exam will take place June 9-10. Location: room 1120 in NHA. 

This is an oral exam. If you intend to take this exam, you must come to room 1120 at 09:00, June 9th (a Tuesday). You will then be given a precise time for your examination. (We aim to start examining at 09:15).

The mandatory assignment is published. Deadline: May 14th.
