The book is availabe as an e-book if you are working on a computer at the University of Oslo.

Preliminary curriculum (updated November 1, 2019):

  • Chapter 1: All, except sections 1.3, 1.5.3, and 1.5.4.
  • Chapter 2: All, except sections 2.2.7 and 2.2.8. In section 2.3.3 only the condition (2.57) for k=1 with the sufficient regularity conditions (2.60) and (2.61). You should only know the main contents of sections : 2.1.4 and 2.2.3.
  • Chapter 3: All, except sections 3.1.4, 3.2.5, 3.3.5, 3.4.4, and 3.4.5. You should only know the main contents of section 3.4.3.
  • Chapter 4: Introduction to the chapter, introduction to section 4.1, section 4.1.1 (except examples 4.2 and 4.3), section 4.1.2, section 4.1.3 (only to page 144, line 7 from above), section 4.1.4, section 4.1.5 (only for Cox regression and only for the univariate case), introduction to section 4.2, section 4.2.1 (except the material on smoothing from page 159, line 13 from below, to page 160, line 15 from above), section 4.2.3 (only to page 165, line 14 from above).
  • Chapter 5: All, except section 5.3.
  • Chapter 6: Only until the middle of page 238.
  • Chapter 7: Introduction to the chapter, introduction to section 7.2, sections 7.2.2, 7.2.3, 7.2.4 and 7.3.
  • Chapter 8: Section 8.1 (only pages 302 and 303). Section 8.3.1 (only pages 313-314).
  • Appendix B.

Most of the above is covered in the slides for the lectures. Material covered in the exercises and the obligatory exercise are also part of the curriculum.
