Epay - Guidance for customers

The University of Oslo's webshop, Epay, offers ordering for items and services paid with VISA and MasterCard/Eurocard. In case you have some difficulties using Epay, you are kindly asked to read this page before you contact us. Steps in the order process

To make an order or to fullfil a payment are activities that involve several steps. First, you need to enter your contact information, select the items you want to order, confirm the order, eventually make a payment using your card, and finally, receive an order confirmation by e-mail.

1. Customer information

  • New customers: The first time you visit Epay, you will be asked to enter your contact information. The following fields are required and must be entered: First name, last name, address, zip code, city/county/state, country and e-mail address. This information will be stored by us. After you have fulfilled the purchase, a customer account will automatically be created for you.
  • Existing customers: If you previously have visited Epay, you may log in with your e-mail address and the generated password you received by the e-mail address you entered as a part of your contact information.

2 Selecting items
Please select the number of items you would like to order. At least one item must be selected.

3. Confirming the order
Please verify that you have entered your contact information and selected the items correctly before you place your order. Otherwise, you may navigate back and do the necessary corrections.

4. Payment
Please select VISA or MasterCard/EuroCard and enter your card number (11 digits), expiry date and verification code (CVC2). The CVC2 code is the last three digits of the seven-digit number printed on the back on your card near the signature as shown below:

You may be redirected to your own card issuer, normally your bank, after you have confirmed the payment at Nets' web pages. This may happen due to implemented security systems such as 3-D Secure, Verified by VISA and MasterCard SecureCode.

5. Order confirmation
After you have confirmed the payment at Nets, you will be sent back to Epay. An order confirmation will be shown including your selected items. It is recommended to print this page for your own records. The same order confirmation will also be sent to your e-mail address.

If this was the first time you visited Epay, the order confirmation you received by e-mail will also include a generated password (does not apply for UiO customers). You may log in by using your e-mail address and the generated password next time you visit Epay. It is therefore recommended to print out this e-mail for your own records as well. In case you forget your password, you may receive a new one by following the "Forgot password" link. When you are logged in, you may view your order history, change your contact information etc.

Logging in

As a registered customer, you may for instance browse your past orders. Your contact information will also be stored, which means, you do not have to enter it each time you are placing new orders.

The first time you made an order at Epay, a password was generated and sent to your e-mail address. UiO customers may log in by using their UiO account. This password in addition to your e-mail address are required in order to log into Epay. In case you have forgot your password, a new one will be generated and sent to your e-mail address by following the "Forgot password" link which you will find placed under the login fields.

Edit/add contact information
After you have logged into Epay, you may edit your contact information by selecting the link "Edit contact information". You will find this link at the bottom of the page as shown below.

Change contact information

After you have followed this link, you will enter a page where you may both edit and add a new contact information. In order to change the displayed address, just make your corrections and press the "Save changes" button. If you want to create a secondary contact information, press the "Save as alternative contact information" button instead.

Contact information buttons

In case you created a secondary address and wish to use this as your default address, select the "Preferences" link displayed on the top of the page. The different contact information will show up on the preferences page. You may set the selected address as default by clicking the "set as default" link placed within the contact information table. Press the "Continue payment for..." link in order to continue your order. Note that a drop-down menu will now show up on the page, where you may easily switch between the two registered contact information.


Setting preferences
You may set your own preferences such as language, e-mail address, username and password by following the "Preferences" link after you have logged in. You will then enter a page where you may set your own preferences. If the information on this page is shown in Norwegian, you may select English as your preferred language by using the drop-down menu. If you want to change your e-mail address, you must enter a new one in the e-mail address field. Please note that if you change your e-mail address, the old e-mail address cannot any longer be used as a username when you log into Epay. Alternatively, you may register your own username as a substitute for your e-mail address. If you need to change your password, you must enter a new one in the "New password" field. Please note that you must confirm this new password by enter it twice. Your old password must also be entered into the "Current password" field as a part of this confirmation.

Order history
On the top of the page you will also find an order history link. All your accepted orders in the current and previous year will show up by following this link, sorted by your oldest order. The status information will indicate whether your card has been charged. All recent orders may have the status reserved, and will normally change to charged within 36 hours from the time you placed your order.

Forgot password
In case you have forgot your password, you may receive a new one by following the "Forgot password" link located within the login fields (does not apply for UiO customers). A new page will then show up where you may enter your registered e-mail address. If you have previously registered your own username as a substitute for your e-mail address, you may enter this one instead. In both cases, a new password will be sent to your e-mail address which we have registered to your account.
