STK9205 - Short course in selected topics of statistics
Schedule, syllabus and examination date
The course is intended to be given by visiting scholars within their
specialty and will vary from time to time. The course will be
primarily aimed at PhD students.
Students will obtain an advanced knowledge within a specialized field statistics not covered by any ordinary course.

Recommended previous knowledge
Bachelor in statistics and an additional 20
credits in statistics at Master's level.
5 credits overlap with STK4205 - Short course in selected topics of statistics
Teaching methods will vary but main model will be an intensive week with 15 hours lectures and 7 hours lab.
Final oral or written examination.
In addition, each PhD student is expected to give an oral presentation on a topic of relevance (chosen in cooperation with the lecturer). The presentation has to be approved by the lecturer for the student to be admitted to the final exam.
Language of examination
The examination text is given in English, and you submit your response in English.

Explanations and appeals
Resit an examination
Students who can document a valid reason for absence from the regular examination are offered a postponed examination at the beginning of the next semester.
Re-scheduled examinations are not offered to students who withdraw during, or did not pass the original examination.
Withdrawal from an examination
It is possible to take the exam up to 3 times. If you withdraw from the exam after the deadline or during the exam, this will be counted as an examination attempt.
