Before the exam
Get to know Wiseflow
An exam in Wiseflow is called a flow. Log in and complete the demo flows to familiarise yourself with Wiseflow and the different flow types.
- Go to Wiseflow and log in with Feide
- Click on “Demoflows” at the bottom of the overview page
Some of the demo flows require you to install the lockdown browser. This is a restricted browser that is usually used on the stationary computers at Silurveien 2 during school exams.
About the flow types:
- Flowmulti - Different question types such as multiple choice and long-answer questions, which are common in on-campus exams.
- Flowlock - The entire exam is answered in one long-answer field. This flow type is also common for on-campus exams.
- Flowassign / flowhandin - The exam is submitted as a PDF (flowassign) or other file types (flowhandin). This is a common flow type for home exams, term papers and similar assignments.
Check that you have selected the correct language
Check that you have selected the correct language in Studentweb. You normally choose this when you register for the semester, but you can also change it later. The language you choose in Studentweb is the basis for the language your exam questions will have in Wiseflow.
To edit the language in Studentweb, click on your name at the top right of the screen, select “My profile”, then scroll down to “Options” and “Language”. Here you can choose “Norsk bokmål”, “Norsk nynorsk” or “English”. You must click “Save” at the bottom of the page.
Permitted aids during the exam
Familiarise yourself with which aids are permitted for your exam. You will find information about permitted aids on the course pages for your course.

After the exam
View your answer and explanation
You will have access to the exam question paper and the answer you submitted in Wiseflow.
If you cannot find the exam you are looking for on the front page under Flows, you can go to Participant archive at the top right.
When will you see your answer?
When the answer becomes available will vary.
Normally, you can see your answer when the exam has finished. In other cases, the answer is published when the grading is complete.
For a few exams, the answers are not published (for example, multiple-choice tests that will be reused).
Please note that access to Wiseflow requires that you are an active student at UiO. If you wish to keep access to your answer after you are no longer a student, you must download it and save it outside the system.
Where do I find the explanation (grounds for the grade)?
If an explanation has been requested and given, you will find it in the same place as your answer.
