Mandatory courses

Being enrolled in this programme means that you must complete the following courses:

HSE courses must be completed at the beginning of the first semester and do not generate any ECTS credits.

Specialisation courses

To ensure competence across more than one technology area, you must complete two specialisation courses. The two courses must each be chosen from a different category in the list below:

Cybernetics and Autonomous Systems

Renewable Energy Systems

Security in Cyber-Physical Systems

  • TEK3950 – Cyber-Physical Systems and Security: Introduction (new course starting spring 2029)

Space Systems and Technologies

The following course may be chosen in combination with any one of the courses listed above:

  • TEK3131 – Radio Communication: Principles and Applications (new course starting spring 2029)

Elective courses / study abroad

The fifth semester is left open for you to design your own course of study. You can broaden your horizon with courses from other subject areas at the University of Oslo, or you can go abroad on one of our exchange programmes.

Elective courses

You can choose among available bachelor's courses at the University of Oslo that are taught in English, provided that you fulfil the admission requirements and the course has available places. You may also apply to have recognised education from other educational institutions.

This page will be updated with a list of recommended courses tailored to different tracks of specialisation.

If you encounter difficulties when trying to enroll in elective courses, please contact the student administration.

Interdisciplinary certificate

Would you like to add a certificate to your diploma? You may use elective courses to get a bachelor's certificate as part of your degree. A certificate can also be completed as an independent supplement to your degree.

Study abroad

Studying abroad offers a unique experience and the opportunity to improve your language skills and take courses that are not offered at the University of Oslo. As a student of this international bachelor’s programme, you have the opportunity to go on exchange in the 5th semester. Read more about studying abroad.

Diploma and degree

The diploma is issued when you have completed the courses that meet the requirements for a degree. Read more about diplomas.
