About the concert

The season opening brings together Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, Torvund’s nature-inspired morning scene and Prokofiev’s dramatic excerpts from Romeo and Juliet in a programme that reflects contrasts in both nature and society. Torvund’s Morgon i skogen moves from birdsong to traffic noise and explores the encounter between acoustic orchestral sounds and electronic tones. Prokofiev’s ballet music gives Shakespeare’s timeless love drama a modern, wordless expression, where love, conflict and class divisions still feel relevant.
