One representative and two deputy representatives will be elected from each of the three staff groups: permanent academic staff, technical and administrative staff, and temporary academic staff.
The faculty board is the faculty’s highest governing body. It sets the overall objectives, priorities, strategies, annual plan and budget for the faculty’s activities. To ensure sound decisions for staff and students, it is important that all staff groups are represented.
Why stand for election?
Serving on the board provides an opportunity to influence the faculty’s development and contribute experience and perspectives from your own staff group. The current representatives encourage colleagues to take this opportunity.

Professor Eline Aas is a professor at HELSAM and has represented the permanent academic staff group during the current term.
“I stood for election because I wanted to help shape the overall framework for research and education at the faculty. Serving on the faculty board has given me a deeper understanding of the University as a whole and of how strategic priorities are developed. It is very rewarding to be a voice for the permanent academic community when important choices are made,” says Eline Aas.

Head of section Anette Sørensen at IMB has represented the technical and administrative staff during the current term.
“For me, it is important that the technical and administrative perspective is clearly heard when major decisions are made about operations, resource use and organisation. Serving on the board has given me a unique overview of the faculty’s activities beyond my own department, which is also useful in my role at the institute,” says Anette Sørensen.
Helena Niemi Eide, a PhD research fellow at HELSAM, has represented the temporary
academic staff during the current term.
“Temporary academic staff make up a large and important part of the faculty’s research effort, and it is crucial that we have a voice at the table. This role has given me a good opportunity to put issues concerning early-career researchers and the working conditions of temporary staff on the agenda” says Helena Niemi Eide.
