Course content
The content of the course may vary. It can be either a course in philosophy of religion focusing on typical subjects within the field, or a philosophical treatment of teological subjects.
Learning outcome
The aim is to give the participants:
- an in-depth knowledge of the texts as well as the central names within the field.
- a certain knowledge of the debates concerning the field
- the ability to explain in a consistent and clear way what characterizes the field
- the ability to critically and in a rather independent way discuss important subjects within the field
Admission to the course

Overlapping courses
- 10 credits overlap with FIL2309V – Patristikk (EVU-emne med kursavgift) (discontinued).
Teaching
12 double sessions of combined seminars and lectures.
The course has the following compulsory activities:
- You must submit 8 1-page response papers (minimum 8 out of 11 times, the first seminar not included)
All compulsory activities must be accepted as satisfactory in order for the student to qualify for the final exam. The activities are only valid for one semester.

Examination
A term paper of 10-12 pages of approximately 2300 characters excl. bibliography and footnotes.
You submit your exam in Inspera within the given deadline.
Language of examination
You may submit your response in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish or English.
Grading scale
Grades are awarded on a scale from A to F, where A is the best grade and F is a fail. Read more about the grading system.
