Velkommen til forelesninger fra UiOs æresdoktorer 2017
UiOs æresdoktorgrad gis til fremtredende, oftest utenlandske, akademikere. De utnevnes hvert tredje år ved UiOs årsfest. I år har UiO 16 æresdoktorer, som alle vil gi forelesninger fra 29. august - 5. september.

Dr. Sriprapha Petcharamesree has accepted an honorary doctorate at the University of Oslo. She will receive this doctorate iduring a ceremony on Sept 1st, 2017.
She has also accepted the invitation to lecture on international human rights discourse and standards within the context of ASEAN and Southeast Asia (SEA). The lecture examines the human rights situation in ASEAN/SEA as well as the development of an ASEAN human rights regime and the politics surrounding it. Vice-Rector at UiO, Åse Gornitzka will introduce her.

Ian Horrocks is a new honorary doctor at the University of Oslo, faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and will hold a lecture entitled “Representing and Reasoning About Knowledge.” The lecture is open to everyone. Welcome!

Prasenjit Duara is a new honorary doctor at the University of Oslo and will hold a lecture entitled Sustainability and the Crisis of Transcendence: The Long View from Asia. The lecture is open to everyone. Welcome!

Professor Malcolm Snead kreeres til æresdoktor ved UiO den 1. september 2017. Æresdoktorforelesning holdes ved Det odontologiske fakultet den 1. september, med tittelen: "Biological approaches to restoring enamel"

Professor and Director Sylvia Richardson will receive the Honorary Doctorate from the University of Oslo. She will hold an open Lecture on A personal view of statistics as a tool for discovery in the health Sciences. Welcome!

Professor Patricia Kameri-Mbote (Universitetet i Nairobi) og professor David Garland (New York Universitet) utnevnes til æresdoktorer ved UiO, og vil i den anledning holde forelesninger.

Professor Thomas Kaufmann og professor Yvonne Sherwood er nye æresdoktorer ved Universitetet i Oslo, Det teologiske fakultet. I den anledning vil det finne sted æresdoktorforelesninger og seminar, under tittelen "Afterlife of the reformation. Biblical reception and cultural impact". Arrangementet er åpent for alle. Tidligere leder av CEMO, professor Jan-Eric Gustafsson, blir æresdoktor ved Det utdanningsvitenskapelige fakultet. Æresdoktorforelesningen avholdes 31. august.

The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) left us with an unfinished agenda for mothers, newborns and small children. The less detailed, but more comprehensive Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are attempting to take us a step forward. Do they focus enough on MDG 4 & 5?
