Integration between Nettskjema, TSD and Helsenorge

It is possible to send messages through Helsenorge via Nettskjema. This requires that you have a project in TSD and an agreement with Helsenorge.

Requirements for using the service

  • Everyone who will use this service must
    • be part of the healthcare sector
    • be a member of the Norwegian Health Network
    • have signed the terms of use for Helsenorge services.
      • This includes, among others, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI) and most hospitals. The institution responsible for the REK approval for the research project is the relevant institution.
  • You must have a TSD project and pay for this additional service.
  • You must clarify the intended use with Helsenorge before using the service. Send an email to ide-ogbestillingsmottak@nhn.no.
  • You must have HelseID and authorise us to send messages to Helsenorge on your behalf.
  • You must have the national identity numbers of the people to be invited to use the service.
    • Contact TSD if more than 200 people are to be invited at a time.
  • If you use Helsenorge to invite people to take part in a research study, invitations are not sent automatically on a recurring basis. Reminders for unanswered invitations are sent one day before the response deadline.
  • Nettskjema supports user representation in Helsenorge. This means that, for example, parents can respond on behalf of children under the age of 16.

Data flow in the service

  1. The national identity numbers of the people to be invited can be uploaded to TSD through the API or entered/pasted into Nettskjema.
There is a dedicated form type in Nettskjema where you can paste national identity numbers and write your own invitation text. When the form has been completed, it is linked to the relevant project in TSD in the usual way.
  2. TSD Operations links the relevant project to Helsenorge, and invitations are created so that invitees receive a message in Helsenorge.
  3. The user clicks the link sent through Helsenorge and is taken to Nettskjema, already logged in through Helsenorge’s login service.
  4. When the user submits their responses in Nettskjema, the data are sent to TSD in the usual way. In addition to the responses, login information that links the responses to the created invitation is submitted.
  5. TSD sends a copy of the submitted response to the user’s inbox in Helsenorge. If you do not want a copy of the response to be sent, but only a receipt, this is also possible. Such changes require an assessment by the clinician or researcher, who must determine whether there is a clinical reason to exempt the resident from receiving a copy.

Getting started with the service

  1. Check that your institution has an agreement to use Helsenorge and clarify the intended use with Norwegian Health Network.
  2. Send a request to nettskjema@usit.uio.no in which you
    • request integration with Helsenorge
    • provide the TSD project number.
