Concerning your request I regret that for the time being it is not possible to welcome you in our faculty as a guest researcher. The reason for this is our policy concerning teacher/research mobility. The tradition here in Oslo is that staff exchange which includes teaching and/or research is coming directly from researchers in one of our departments and not as initiatives through the administrative representatives. Such initiative often comes from contacts through common research or academic contact. If you are interested in coming here as researchers in the future it could therefore be an idea to establish academic contacts with other researchers in your academic field.

I regret therefore that we cannot facilitate such teaching visit.

For your information, please note that although international cooperation is a strategic priority for the UiO, cooperation is always initiated based on mutual interest between departments/research groups at the UiO and the partner institution. The central Office of International Relations and Research Support is happy to provide information and assist, but does not initiate cooperation.

An overview of the different units at the UiO you can find at this page: http://www.uio.no/english/about/organisation/index.html

We would, however, suggest that before you contact a specific unit, you should develop a more detailed description of the purpose, duration and scope of the cooperation. This will help them assess if there is an appropriate basis for organizing a meeting at this point.

First I would like to thank you for your request and for the interest in coming to us on internship/ guest researcher. Second I must inform you that the tradition here in Oslo is that such initiatives is coming directly from researchers in one of our departments and not as initiatives through the administrative representatives. Such initiative often comes from contacts through common research or academic contact. If you are interested in coming here as a guest researcher in the future it could therefore be an idea to establish academic contacts with other researchers in your academic field. Unfortunately I cannot offer you more help than referring to the list of academic staff where you maybe could fined someone who share your academic interests with. You find the whole list from the faculty of Social Sciences here:

Academic staff - Faculty of Social Sciences (uio.no)

You can also sort this list at department level. Her is for example the list only containing people from the Department of Sociology and Human Geography:

People - Department of Sociology and Human Geography (uio.no)

I wish you all luck with your efforts.

Greetings from Oslo and thank you for your interest.

The tradition here in Oslo is that staff exchange which includes teaching and/or research is coming directly from researchers in one of our departments and not as initiatives through the administrative representatives for the agreements. However I have asked the Department of Political Sciences  here if they are interested, but I regret that their answer is negative due to the mentioned reasons. This is also due to our capacity as we are receiving very many such requests from partner institutions and it is not an easy task to include it in the regular teaching.

The teaching plan for the next semester has already been set and it is difficult to include any more lectures in it. Most often success is obtained when the interest is expressed form our own researchers, which implicates that an academic cooperation must exist in advance. Teacher exchange must start in the other end; an academic interest/contact/collaboration where we can plan well in advance, and preferably a mutual exchange where we also give lectures in your university.

As you understand it is unfortunately not possible for me to proceed with your wishes at this point. I regret this but wish you every luck with other possible Erasmus partners.
